CTE Solutions Guide: Desiging Pathways to Student Success

ATC Success Story

Georgetown ISD

The Challenge G‌eorgetown ISD was growing fast and the district's CTE programs couldn't keep pace. Programs were split across three high schools, equipment was outdated (teachers sourced furniture from garage sales), and hands-on training lacked the tools students needed. A single, purpose-built facility became the obvious answer. The Solution Georg‌etown partnered with ATC and Meteor to equip the new 241,000-square-foot Future Ready Complex. With ATC managing vendor relationships and balancing preferences against budget, district leaders could stay fully involved without getting overwhelmed in the complexity. From planning through installation, ATC reps were on-site to guide the process, ensuring every program received industry-grade equipment tailored to its specific needs. The Impact The Fu‌ture Ready Complex now serves 1,000+ students daily across eight advanced CTE pathways. Industry-grade environments have improved student behavior, accelerated soft skill development, and made professional transitions seamless — e.g., health science students now enter hospital observations already familiar with the space. The district also saved money by consolidating into one‌‌ high-quality facility rather than equipping three separate schools.

" It ' s created an opportunity for students to find what they ' re passionate about and then grow into that . And the community recognizes that and appreciates it ."

— Robert Thomas, GISD Innovation Facilitator
